Growing up as a migrant worker, Leonila shares her personal stories with her audience. Her book "Leoni's Tiny Stories," is a collection of such memories of love and inspiration. I remember my nephew, putting down minecraft long enough to pick this up, said, "This is good," after a full 15 minutes of silent reading. Written for children his age (3rd grade), it's a glimpse into the life of the only daughter of a large migrant working family. While the first story shows she's clearly adored, the others give insight into a rural upbringing and carry darker shades I've not seen since "Grapes of Wrath". Leoni’s Tiny Stories is a collection of short stories inspired from Leonila’s childhood experiences as a migrant worker in the fields of south Texas.
